The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) governorship candidate in Lagos State, Prince Laja Adeoye, has praised Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for what he described as courageous leadership and determination that led to the successful rescue of pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Adeoye described the safe return of the victims after weeks in captivity as a significant achievement and a reflection of the Oyo State Government’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
He commended Governor Makinde for remaining steadfast throughout the rescue operation and for maintaining a firm position against negotiating with or paying ransom to the abductors, saying the approach demonstrated leadership in addressing insecurity.
According to Adeoye, the successful rescue underscored the importance of intelligence-driven security operations, effective collaboration among security agencies, and the state’s resolve to confront criminal activities while safeguarding long-term security.
The APM governorship candidate also lauded security agencies, the Oyo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun), and all personnel involved in the operation for their professionalism, resilience, and commitment, which he said contributed to the safe release of the victims.
He urged Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information, stressing that public cooperation remains vital in combating kidnapping and other forms of criminality across the country.
Adeoye congratulated the rescued pupils, teachers and their families on their freedom, expressing optimism that the successful operation would strengthen public confidence in Nigeria’s security institutions and encourage sustained efforts toward achieving lasting peace and security.
