…Vows to govern without discrimination, improve welfare of traditional rulers
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2027 general elections in Benue State, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa (SAN), has promised to be governor for all people of the state and work with them to bring unity and development.
This is as he said he sought God’s grace to become governor to protect the people of the state, adding that
According to him pastoralists who are ready to obey the Benue anti-open grazing law will enjoy the same protection as other law-abiding people of the state; but those who refuse to obey the law will have to take their trade to places where lawbreaking is not a crime”.
Chief Aondoakaa spoke at the House of Solution Church of All Nations at Tyowanye in Buruku Local Government Area of the state during a church service where he also reaffirmed his commitment to security, unity and inclusive governance.
Chief Aondoakaa was received by the General Superintendent of the church, Pastor Peter Terhemba Kparev, alongside pastors and members of the congregation who warmly welcomed the PDP standard-bearer.
He outlined key aspects of his vision for Benue State, declaring that he would govern without discrimination and work with all segments of the state to guarantee peace and development.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) emphasised the importance of security and the rule of law, particularly regarding the implementation of the Benue State Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law.
Chief Aondoakaa also pledged to strengthen traditional institutions, describing them as critical partners in governance and community development.
“I will improve the welfare of our traditional rulers”, he promised.
The PDP governorship candidate assured the people that his administration would be driven by consultation and service rather than personal preferences.
“I will be a servant leader. I won’t impose my personal decisions and choices on the people”.
Addressing the recurring security challenges confronting parts of the state, Aondoakaa unveiled plans to establish a Benue Security Fund aimed at supporting collective responses to threats across the state.
“Our administration will institute a Benue Security Fund. An attack on one local government will be treated as an attack on all the other local government areas of the state. We will not sit and watch our communities suffer insecurity alone”.
He also promised to open up rural roads to facilitate rapid deployment of security personnel and improve access to vulnerable communities.
Earlier in his remarks, former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aondona Dajoh, described Aondoakaa as a leader capable of bringing the people of Benue together.
According to Dajoh, the PDP candidate possesses the qualities needed to unite the state and drive meaningful development if entrusted with leadership.
Also speaking, former PDP governorship aspirant, Prof. Dennis Ityavyar, vouched for Aondoakaa’s integrity and dependability, saying he is an honest man who keeps to his promises.
In his sermon, Pastor Peter Terhemba Kparev, spoke extensively on the qualities of effective leadership, identifying selflessness, generosity, compassion and unalloyed commitment to serving others as essential virtues for anyone seeking public office.
