Osun Guber: Adeleke Visits Ayedire/Iwo/Ola-Oluwa Federal Constituency

The campaign train of Governor Ademola Adeleke on Tuesday visited the Ayedire/Iwo/Ola-Oluwa Federal Constituency, where the governor harped on continuity as the key to sustainable democracy.

During the visit, the governor unveiled a series of plans and programmes for the development of rural areas in Osun under the second pillar of his five-point agenda, which focuses on the consolidation of infrastructure expansion for collective prosperity.

Adeleke, who spoke at Ayedire and Ola-Oluwa Local Government Areas while addressing traditional rulers at Ikire-Ile and Ile-Ogbo, said the reconstruction of major internal roads across the two local government areas would continue.

“I assure you, our royal fathers, I will continue to upgrade your roads. I have started by flagging off the Telemu-Ilemowu-Ogbagba Road. All other internal roads are slated under our enlarged rural agenda.

“You have seen our work at Iwo and other areas. We will do more for our people once we are re-elected. We have a five-point agenda which will benefit all towns and villages in our dear state,” the governor assured the people of Ayedire and Ola-Oluwa Local Government Areas.

At the campaign engagements, Governor Adeleke also received hundreds of defectors from the APC into the Accord Party, led by Hon. Dauda Lawal (Ọmọ Ẹkùn), former APC Vice Chairman in Ola-Oluwa Local Government Area, and Hon. Amos Akindiya, former member of the Osun State House of Assembly.

The defectors said their decision was informed by Governor Adeleke’s visible infrastructure development across Osun, his people-oriented style of governance, and their conviction that his administration has delivered tangible dividends of democracy to both rural and urban communities.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Dauda Lawal said the governor’s commitment to fulfilling his promises and improving the welfare of the people made it impossible for them to remain in the APC.

He further noted that those owed half salaries during the previous APC administration are now being paid by the Adeleke administration, including the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, whom he said is also a beneficiary of the ongoing half-salary payments.

The traditional rulers in both local government areas appreciated the governor for his performance so far and highlighted the needs and aspirations of their people.
